Meet the team
David Taylor - Managing Director
David, a self-confessed automation enthusiast, has worked in the Audio Visual and Home Automation industry within Dorset since 2004. Prior to starting Automated AV Systems Ltd in 2013, he worked for a well-established and respected local Custom Installations business where he built up a wealth of knowledge and experience in a wide variety of products and systems.
David now heads up the company and specialises in all types of home automation and AV systems, but is also often found taking on a more ‘hands on’ role within many of the jobs and contracts that the company undertakes.
Richard Neil – Operations Director
Richard joined the business in early 2014 from an IT, networking and Security/CCTV background, in which he had built up ten years of knowledge and experience.
He has undertaken further specialist top quality training on current home automation and AV Systems, and is often involved, alongside the company’s experienced installation team, in many of the installations himself. Due to his experience in a commercial environment, Richard now also takes responsibility for the company’s commercial operations and installations.
John Neil – Finance Director
John has been with the business since its launch, bringing a wealth of management and finance experience gained over the past thirty five years, whilst running a range of local businesses.
He has been instrumental in helping Automated AV to quickly establish and run a robust administration and accounts system, whilst always aiming to provide the company’s customers with a personal and friendly service.
James Boyt – Installation Engineer
James joined Automated AV in 2016, bringing with him 15 years of valuable experience within the Audio Visual industry. He has worked for many years with the prestigious Bang & Olufsen products in addition to many other high-end brands. James is very knowledgeable on all things AV, so should you want any advice, please ask him and he will be willing to assist in any way that he can. James also has a young family, which takes care of a lot of his spare time outside work.
Amanda Taylor – Marketing Executive
Amanda has over 15 years’ experience in graphic design, website design and marketing, and works busily away in the background marketing the company, together with maintaining and improving the company’s website. Amanda is also a full time Mum, so she is kept very busy in and outside of work!
